Training Load Monitoring & Athlete Management Conference - Oct. 3rd


The Sport Science and Health programme at ITT in association with the IRFU will be running a half day research event on Training Load Monitoring and Athlete Management Conference on October 3rd.

Dr. Tim Gabbett has 20 years’ experience working as an applied sport scientist with athletes and coaches from a wide range of sports including Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Basketball, Australian Football, and Cricket and has consulted with world leading sports teams and organisations including Manchester United, the New Zealand Rugby Union the Australian Institute of Sport, the National Rugby League and a number of AFL teams. Tim has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and has presented at over 100 national and international conferences. He is committed to performing world-leading research that can be applied in the ‘real world’ to benefit high performance coaches and athletes.

At this unique event, Tim will present his world leading research in team sports and will cover topics such as:

- The relationship between training load and injury

- Injury prediction models

- Return to train, play and “compete” plans

- The protective effect of training


This half-day conference is ideal for sports coaches, S&C coaches, sport scientists and medical staff members who are looking to enhance their understanding of athlete training load monitoring and management.
